that was auctioned from a collection a few years ago.
It is a 1939 Hudson 95 Country Club Eight Touring Sedan on a 122-inch (3099 mm) wheelbase with a generic 1939 list price of $1079. That four-door sedan price compares to $1023 for a DeSoto Custom, $1043 for an Oldsmobile 80, $1110 for a Studebaker President, $1095 for a Packard Six, and most closely to a $1075 Chrysler Windsor. There was the Model 97 on a 129-inch (3279 mm) wheelbase that sold for $1174 and a seven-passenger sedan that went for $1430. So these Upscale Hudsons where pretty much mid-range cars, being "upscale" in terms of Hudson's price range.
I put 1939 Hudson styling in the context of the new 1936 Hudson design's facelifts here.
