Along came a ‘68 Javelin SST that filled the bill. With a 290 V8 2bbl and automatic I got lower insurance rates but the previous owner had put mags, a dual exhaust system and glass packs on it so it looked and sounded hot. It was a wonderful car! My wife and I were newly-weds and we drove that car all over the US, including mountain roads and logging trails that we had no business attempting. I’ve had lots of fun sports cars and performance cars since then but this is the only car I ever have dreams about.Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09062975865362289142noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4557947810239808242.post-64552640922489028512017-02-09T01:39:21.604-08:002017-02-09T01:39:21.604-08:00Glad to see you do a write-up of one of my favorit...Glad to see you do a write-up of one of my favorite cars. Minor correction. The Barracuda, released on 1 April 1964, beat the Mustang to market by two weeks.

To AMC's credit, the Javelin outsold the 2nd generation Baracuda, even though the latter offered three body styles; the Javelin came only as a fastback hardtop.AutoPuzzles Bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18053686624979235889noreply@blogger.com
